How long does the build take?
Set aside half an hour for the first assembly. The tubes push into colour-matched connectors and the screwdriver is in the box, so it is straightforward — just not a two-minute job.
Does the scoreboard need batteries?
Yes, the score indicator is battery powered. Check the pack for the size before the birthday, as batteries are not included.
Can it be taken apart again?
It comes apart back into tubes and packs into the box, which is useful if it lives in a flat. Most families build it once and leave it standing.
Is it sturdy enough to hang off?
No. It is a lightweight tube frame built for shooting, not dunking. Hanging on the rim will pull it over.
Build it on a Saturday morning and you will not see them until lunch.
Safety: adult assembly required — contains small parts, screws and nuts. Not suitable for children under 3 years. Do not climb, hang or swing on the frame. Play on level ground and check the joints are fully pushed home before use.
