Ball Blowing Pipe Toy
Active play · Air science
Blow through the pipe and the ball hangs in the air.
It looks like a trick the first time. A steady breath lifts the ball out of the cup and holds it hovering above the tube, and the moment your child eases off, it drops back. Getting it to stay up takes control, not force — which is why they will spend the afternoon working out exactly how hard to blow.
Why such a simple toy holds up
It teaches air pressure without saying so
The ball stays up because moving air holds it there. Children work that out by feel long before anyone explains it, which is how science actually sticks.
Breath control is the skill
Long steady exhales rather than short puffs. It is proper lung work, and useful practice for anyone learning a wind instrument.
There is always a longer record
Keeping the ball up for ten seconds becomes fifteen. Two children turn it into a contest without any rules being handed to them.
Nothing to charge or lose
One piece, one ball, no batteries and no screen. It goes in a handbag for a restaurant or a waiting room and works straight away.
Two colours
Same toy either way — pick the one they will claim as theirs.

Questions about this toy
Is it hard to do the first time?
Most children get the ball up within a few tries. Holding it steady is the part that takes practice, and that is where the game is.
Can the ball be swallowed?
The ball is designed to sit in the cup and not pass through the tube, but it is a small loose part. This is a supervised toy, not one for babies or toddlers who mouth everything.
Can two children share one?
Better to have one each. It is a mouth-blown toy, so wash the mouthpiece with warm soapy water between users and never pass it around when anyone is unwell.
Will it survive being dropped?
The body is moulded ABS, so it takes normal knocks. Losing the ball down the back of the sofa is the likelier problem.
Two of them and somebody will be timing who keeps the ball up longest.
Safety: contains a small ball — choking hazard. Not suitable for children under 3 years. Adult supervision required. One user per toy, and wash the mouthpiece before and after play.
