Is the poke pen sharp?
It is a blunt pushing tool rather than a needle, but it is a thin stick and it is used with force. Keep it for the table, and stay nearby with younger children.
Can a three-year-old really do the poke art?
With help. Placing the squares is easy, holding the pen steady is the hard part — most three-year-olds want you doing it alongside them. By five they will finish a board alone.
Are scissors included?
No. The cut-out sheet is designed to press out, but you may want safety scissors for the trickier shapes.
How long does one dress take?
A full board is a long sitting or two — it is a slow craft by design. That is the appeal for a rainy weekend, and the reason it is not a five-minute toy.
Will it run out quickly?
There are 300 fabric pieces, three poke boards, eight painting cards and the sticker and cutting sheets on top. It is a box you come back to rather than finish in one go.
Start the first dress with them at the kitchen table. You will end up doing half of it yourself.
