STEM building · 49 pieces · Ages 3+

The car drives straight up a vertical wall.

That is the bit children call their parents in to see. Snap the magnetic cubes into a tower, run the track up the side of it, and the little electric car climbs the vertical section and comes over the top through the arch. Forty-nine pieces, no glue, no screws — and a different layout every time the box comes out.

Why it stays on the living room floor

Magnets do the fiddly work

Cubes pull themselves into line and hold. A three-year-old can build something that actually stands up, which is the difference between a toy that gets used and one that gets abandoned.

Both sides of every cube carry track

Flip a piece and it becomes a different part of the route. Forty-nine pieces go a long way when each one has two jobs.

When it fails, they fix it

A car that stalls halfway up is a problem with a cause — too steep, badly joined, wrong corner. Working that out is engineering, and it happens without a worksheet.

Charge it, don't feed it

The car charges from the USB cable in the box. No hunting for AA batteries on a Sunday afternoon.

All 49 pieces

  • 10 straight track cubes
  • 4 corner track cubes
  • 4 rainbow arch pieces
  • 4 red curved tops
  • 4 support blocks and 4 joiners
  • 16 connector pins
  • 1 rechargeable electric car
  • 1 USB charging cable and 1 layout guide

The guide shows four starter layouts on the back of the box — after that they stop looking at it.

Questions about this set

Does the car really drive upwards?

Yes — it grips the track and climbs vertical sections, which is the whole appeal. Build the tower properly and it will run up one side and over the arch.

Are 49 pieces enough for a real layout?

Enough for the tall double-arch build shown in the photos, plus four other layouts from the guide. Because both faces of each cube carry track, the set stretches further than the number suggests.

Can a three-year-old build it alone?

They can build the flat loops on their own. The tall vertical builds usually need a hand the first few times, then they take over.

How long does the car run?

A full charge covers a long session of laps. Plug it into any USB port with the cable in the box while the next layout is being built.

Do the magnets hold if it gets knocked?

They hold firmly for normal play, and a tall build will come apart if it is kicked. Pieces snap back together in seconds, which children treat as part of the game.

Build the tower first. The vertical climb is what sells this toy to everyone in the room.

Safety: contains magnets and small parts including 16 connector pins — choking hazard, not suitable for children under 3 years. Swallowed magnets are dangerous and need immediate medical attention. Keep the set complete, count the pins back in after play, and stop using any cracked piece.
